There are no educational requirements which are absolutely necessary to join a production team as an assistant. But doing a degree in Media Production can prove beneficial. The course trains you to handle the camera, audio and video production, etc. It is a Bachelor’s degree and takes approximately 3-4 years to complete. Master’s degrees can also be pursued. Getting experience is of utmost importance. Look for production assistant jobs in television, trade publications or on specific websites.
