Candidates interested in taking up economics for a bachelor’s degree need to have completed their higher secondary school in any discipline, but should have a good quantitative aptitude. A graduate of any discipline with the minimum required marks can apply for a post graduate course in economics. Entry to some colleges is based on the entrance examination followed by a G.D and an interview. Students with a master’s degree stand eligible to pursue an M.Phil or a doctoral program in the subject.
