Eligibility
There are at present a large number of courses in teaching. However, each course depends on the class or age of students the particular individual wants to teach. For example in order to teach at the nursery level, an individual has to opt for a course that makes the same a possibility. For a nursery level teaching course it is sufficient for an individual to be done with a 10+2 or an equivalent from a recognized Board. For classes above the nursery level, individuals will have to take up yet another course for which it is again enough that they be done with a 10+2 or an equivalent. For those individuals desiring to teach at the high school level, it is a must to do a B.Ed., for which an individual has to be a graduate. For those individuals desiring to teach at colleges and universities, a postgraduate degree or a doctoral degree is a must. The eligibility criterion for these courses will depend on the respective university and the postgraduate degree.
Details Of The Course
Courses in teaching will aim to educate students on the nuances of teaching. The courses will focus on helping students to develop what it takes to become a teacher. Attention will be given to understanding the psychology of kids and young adults, developing effective communication skills, patience and various methods of teaching. Advanced courses in teaching will dwell more on matters of importance than basic courses.
Career Prospects
Without the question of doubt, a career in teaching can almost guarantee a respectable job for an individual and the means to earn a decent living too. Teachers depending on their educational qualifications and skills can find jobs in schools, colleges and universities. Generally, the more qualified a teacher is and more the years of experience, the more the chances of earning handsome pay packages. However, it must be mentioned here that a career in teaching does not pay as much a career in most other disciplines. People however opt for a career in teaching, because hardly any other job profile can be as gratifying as that of a teacher’s.
